FUNNEST FESTIVAL EVER

1 Jul 2009

Wowee! How cool is the Fun4Kids Festival. We've had an absolute blast down in Warrnambool over the last couple of days. It was so cool to play at a festival completely dedicated to kids and to see how much fun everyone was having. Moova just danced, and danced, and danced! She had heaps of new friends up and bopping along with her and hasn't stopped talking about it since. There were some really great performers at the festival and a big highlight for us was meeting the King of the kids himself, Mr Peter Combe. We hope we can get back there again someday.

MOOVA IN THE CITY!

21 Mar 2008

Wow! What a fantastic day. It was wonderful to see so many out in support of the Royal Children's Hospital Good Friday Appeal. We opened the stage for the Kids Day Out at Telstra Dome and there was plenty of other cool bands that followed us. Moova really enjoyed cutting loose in the city and was pretty starstruck by all the celebrities that she rubbed shoulders with backstage. Perhaps they were starstruck too, being alongside a bopping bovine!!!

CASEY KIDS CARNIVAL

15 Mar 2008

It was great to be back in Berwick for the Casey Kids Carnival. Just like last year it was another hot day but that didn't seem to put any families off coming along and joining in the festivities. The heat didn't seem to worry Moova and all her friends either, as they danced up a storm. Hope that we can be back again next year.

We have had some other great shows in the last couple of weeks. We had an awesome show at The Age Harvest Picnic at Hanging Rock. Moova had lots of dancing friends there too, including a grooving mushroom! It was great to have such a big crowd and was especially cool to open for Joe Camilleri and the Black Sorrows. We had another stinkin' hot day at the Eildon Music Festival last weekend. We were all exhausted afterwards but it was great to play alongside bands like Daryl Braithwaite, Steve Eales band and our good friends Dave Walker and Blue Moon Lodge.

CD REVIEW IN MELBOURNE'S CHILD

28 Feb 2008

"Everybody's Singing It" is the second album from Gee Whiz Kidz. This cleverly written and highly enjoyable album is full of distinctly Australian sounds, which help to create a unique and well-crafted album"

If you haven't heard it yet, or even got your own copy, we have it available on this website for purchase at only $9.99 + postage. Just head back to the home page, click on the CD cover and follow the links.

A big thanks to Wagga Wagga for helping us put on some great shows. We had plenty of people come out and see us and Moova was absolutely delighted that she had so many people to dance with. It was our second time up there and it was great to see so many familiar faces from last year. We can't wait to do it again next year.

Children's Week Launch at Melbourne Zoo

21 Oct 2007

Melbourne Zoo was awesome! We made a lot of new friends and really enjoyed seeing all the animals although most of them seemed to be asleep... I think it was a bit too hot for them and they preferred hiding away in the shade to keep cool. The heat didn't stop Moova though, she was dancing like crazy with her friend Groova, as were all the kids.

We also had a great time over the previous weekends in Birregurra, Maldon and at the Royal Geelong Show. We are now looking forward to a well deserved break until we go to Ballarat.

Come and check us out and have a dance with Moova and Groova at one of our upcoming shows:

Ballarat Show - Friday 9th and Saturday 10th November
Lilydale Show - Saturday 17th November
Manna Gum Festival (Greensborough) - Saturday 24th November

Hope to see you there and don't forget your dancing shoes!!!

We all love the town of Yarrawonga and are looking forward to getting back there again soon.

So next week we are off to the Birregurra Weekend Festival on Saturday and then we will be heading up to the Maldon Show on Sunday. If you are near to either of these areas we would love to see you there.

ROYAL MELBOURNE SHOW

25 Sep 2007

Gee Whiz Kidz performs at the 2007 Royal Melbourne Show

Wow! What a big stage. We had a great time today performing at the Royal Melbourne Show. Moova even got to meet Humphrey B. Bear who was on stage after us, she was very excited about it. We had a great crowd and lots of people danced with Moova especially for the last song "Hairy Legs". It was a fantastic day and we hope to be back again next year.

NEW SONGS

20 May 2007

G'day

We have finally finished recording our new CD and it sounds great. There will be seven songs in total and if you have been to any of our more recent shows you will most likely recognise a few. It was great fun to record and we especially enjoyed having some friends help out on a few tracks (thanks to Jaslyn, Tim, Fletcher, Georgia, Madi, Jordyn, CC, Kate and Benjamin, that's them in the photo with Damo and Shano). It shouldn't be too long before it is available to buy, in the meantime you can hear a couple of samples if you go to www.myspace.com/geewhizkidz. Hairy Legs, the song featuring Greg Arnold (Things of Stone and Wood) and all of the kids, is one of the songs that we have put on our myspace site, so go and check it out.

We are looking forward to playing at Jasper's Birthday in June and we also have shows booked for later in the year including the Royal Geelong Show, Ballarat Show and the Birregurra Weekend Festival.

Hope to see you all there with your dancing shoes on...

Happy Easter Everyone,

We had a great day in Yarram yesterday at the Tarra Festival. Thanks to everyone that came along. It was a beautiful sunny day and it was great to see everyone out on the lawn dancing. Yarram has a wonderful community spirit and it was great to see all the kids getting involved in the festival especially for the street parade.

We hope to be back again next year, bye for now.

GWK

A FULL WEEKEND

25 Mar 2007

Hi Everyone,

We had a great weekend playing at Billanook College and also at The Basin Music Festival. Although on Saturday it was very windy and a bit rainy, Damo's guitar nearly blew away. We are looking forward to going back there soon to do some recording with the school choir for our next CD.

It was a beautiful day on Sunday though at The Basin. The sun was shining and there were plenty of people out and about and lots of great music. We had so much fun.

We also had a great time playing at the Casey Kids Carnival earlier in the month. Moo-va the dancing cow did plenty of dancing and got everyone moo-ving! We also enjoyed seeing Fred Penner who was playing there. He is all the way from Canada and plays some great kids' tunes.

Gee whiz March was a busy month!

We are off to Yarram over Easter to play at the Tarra Festival on Saturday 7th April. So, if you are in the area come on down to the primary school at 12 noon for a dance.

Don't forget your dancing shoes.....

Jaslyn's Birthday

25 Jan 2007

We had a great day last weekend playing at Jaslyn's birthday party. It was very hot and very humid but we all danced and had fun anyway. Jaslyn drew a great picture of us... check it out!

Happy birthday Jaslyn, hope you had a great birthday.

WAGGA ROCKS!

8 Jan 2007

G'day everyone. We had a great trip to Wagga Wagga and met plenty of people. We played 6 shows at Wagga Wagga Marketplace and it was great to see so many people come along and join in the fun. We also had an acoustic afternoon at ABC Learning Centre, we had a great time.

Moo-va the Dancing Cow was a real hit with the crowds and even learnt a few new dance moo-ves herself, she said she can't wait until our next show and was so excited to get her picture in the local newspaper. I went out to the paddock today to feed her and she had all of the sheep dancing! It was quite a sight to see.

So now it's back into the studio for us. We are in the process of recording some new groovy tunes and hope to get them finished soon. Our friend Greg Arnold (Things of Stone and Wood) is going to be our special guest to sing one of the songs which is about a hairy spider who has trouble dancing. You may have heard it if you have been to any of of our recent shows.

Anyway, that's it from us for now. I guess we should say a big THANK YOU to all the people of Wagga Wagga for being so accommodating and friendly. We can't wait to get back there one day.

See Ya!

GWK
